Thank you for your patience while we retrieve your images.

Drawing and painting have always been my primary means of self-expression. However, I recently fell in love with photography. Through experimentation with a variety of materials, subjects and focus methods, I discovered a way to capture the essence of a painting with a camera.

My original goal was to simply observe the photographic effects that water droplets had on small objects beneath them. The process for obtaining these images started with a sheet of glass, a bag of M&Ms, and a spray bottle full of water. While I saw some interesting effects, as seen in First, this was not the desired result. I soon realized that I needed an agent that would allow the water to bead upon the glass. Coating the glass with vegetable oil aided this process. The droplets held their shape and I was able to capture the magnified projections of the subjects. The varieties of items that appear in my photos include: colored objects such as assorted candies, fresh fruit and art supplies. I then began to experiment with different focusing methods, watching the still life change as I adjusted the camera lens. Kaleidoscopic patterns swirled in the viewfinder, and with a click of the shutter, bright colors froze in a flowing movement like impressionist brushstrokes.
